Apple macOS Monterey allows you to Link Keyboard or Mouse to iPad Screen. We enjoy using our Apple ecosystem, and this feature is one of the reasons. My iPad and Macbook usually sit side by side, and I am proud to say that I don’t need separate keyboards and mice.

Here are the steps you need to follow to use Universal Control:

  • You use a Mac or an iPad that is supported.
  • Install macOS 12.3 or later on your Mac and iPadOS 15.4 or later on your iPad.
  • It’s the same Apple ID you’re using on both devices.
  • Your Mac and iPad are configured for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Handoff.

You can choose from these options:

  • Trick number one is fun. Simply move the pointer on your Mac to the right or left edge of the screen closest to your iPad, pause for a moment, then move the arrow slightly past it. Continue moving the pointer to the iPad screen when a border appears at the edge.
  • In the menu bar of your Mac, click Control Center and then Display, then select your iPad (Link keyboard and mouse). When the pointer appears on your iPad, move it past the edge of the Mac screen.

You can use your Mac keyboard once you add your iPad display to Mac. I use a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse and a Keychron K2 mechanical keyboard. Both devices work flawlessly with the setup. I do not need to pair them separately to the iPad.
