Honestly, if Google loses its partnership with Apple to make them a default search engine on their devices, it will be a colossal loss to Google.

An analyst estimated Google’s payment to Apple at $15 billion in 2021. Apple products are widely popular among people. Take the example of smartphones. Statcounter reports that iOS and Android operate on 27.5% and 71.85% of the Global Mobile Operating System Market, respectively. Approximately 52.41 percent of North Americans use iOS, and 47.24 percent use Android in July 2022.

How will Apple benefit from their own search Engine?

Apple will not make a search engine overnight to compete with Bing and Google. It might be interesting why Apple may want to make its search engine. Here is the list:

  • Apple voice assistant is Siri, and it needs a source for better results like Google voice search.
  • Safari and Spotlight can work seamlessly.
  • You do not need to type in a browser as you can put your query in the Spotlight.
  • AI on Apple products will become better with more information on Apple servers.
  • Computational Photo and video processing will improve with more image data on Apple servers.
